The voter cards included non-existent names and addresses, as well as members of the Dallas Cowboys football team.

Writerchick, this is about a combination of radical leftwing politics and the mainstream American left’s belief in the (self) rightousness of “taking America back”.
The mantra runs – Bush stole the election in Florida, so we might as well take “precautions” against similar fraud – or better translated as “we’d better cheat first, before they do”.
Of course, the problem is that Bush and the GOP did not actually cheat. How would anyone have known that Florida would have been the vital state? Also, if the full recount had gone ahead – including “hanging chads”, Bush would have won by more votes.
No, this ACORN business is the outcome of self-rightously believing in their own virtue. The far left eat that sort of attitude up for breakfast.
